6pm at Methodist Hall, Chatsworth Rd. - Make a game, ‘sell’ some cakes, swap some books – all to raise funds for charity.
A day of discussion, planning and training to set the course of our District for the next year. All adults and young people very welcome. We’ll also be running essential training that you will need to attend if you are planning to camp with us this year.
Situated in the Chess Valley, on the outskirts of London, this beautiful family-run campsite is close to Chorleywood tube station but it feels a world away, surrounded by nature, green fields and ecologically-important chalk streams. Our four-night camp under canvas will be a perfect introduction to camping for newer members as well as a chilled-out and restorative break for the older ones. Expect a programme of creative activities, bushcraft, a hike, cooking on fires and in the kitchen tent, music-making, and plenty of campfires.
If you’d like to help run this camp, we would love to hear from you!
Booking is open NOW and the sooner we know who’s coming, the sooner we can start planning an extra-special camp. Final booking deadline 27th April. Link to more info and BOOKING FORM
We will be joining thousands of people from around the UK and the world to celebrate our shared co-operative values and look ahead to the next 100 years of Woodcraft Folk. Returning to Kelmarsh Hall, nr. Northampton, the programme will include centres for bushcraft, under 12s, art and craft, STEM, peace and conflict, ecology – as well as an escape room, underground printing press and cinema and a massive wide game.
There will be a dedicated programme for elfins and younger pioneers, including early evening entertainment aimed at younger members. There will also be an evening programme for teenagers and adults, with live music and DJs every other night. In between, we’ll be able to enjoy all the usual Woodie favourites such as campfires, singing and games.
Just like at Common Ground in 2022 (the camp is on the same site, Kelmarsh Hall in Northamptonshire) there will be cafes to hang out, grab a snack and meet young people from around the world. There are chances to get involved in everything, from broadcasting on the camp radio, to generating TV content for Camp News every night, and a giant wide game played by everyone on site!
We expect to have a big Hackney contingent joining the camp and the sooner we know who is going, the better we can plan.
There are options to attend for just the first three days or the second seven - or of course the whole 10 day camp.
Booking deadline is 27th April, but if you can, please book before the end of March so we can let the central team know numbers.
